The CoE has two core clinics: the Women's Health Clinic (ccc) at the Jackson Medical Mall, and the Wellness for Women Clinic at the UMC Medical Pavilion.
Women's Health Center (ccc)
The Women's Health Clinic serves as the CoE's clinical care center (ccc), and provides comprehensive medical care for women, regardless of their ability to pay for medical services. The clinic is located in Jackson Medical Mall (JMM), which has been home to UMMC's teaching clinics and several specialty clinics since 1998. The Jackson Medical Mall is a unique venture between the City of Jackson and UMMC. What had once been an abandoned shopping mall soon became a central site for a primary care center where patients gain access to the system without physician referral. It provides a teaching site for all our interns and residents and fills a void that existed in patient care for Mississippians.
Located in the Jackson Medical Mall are 58 ambulatory care clinics; a cardio-pulmonary rehab center; an artificial kidney unit; and the recently completed comprehensive cancer research and treatment center. The Jackson Medical Mall is also home to the Jackson Heart Study, the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study, an AIDS community outreach program, a smoking cessation program, a suicide prevention program, state health department clinics, the Community Health Education Center (CHEC), and several City of Jackson social services departments.

Wellness for Women Clinic
The Women's Wellness Clinic serves as our second clinical site. It is located in Suite H, at the University Medical Pavilion. The clinic was designed to emphasize preventive care through delivery of a comprehensive wellness package. At the same site, specialty ob-gyn services including fertility consultation are available as well. As of September of 2003, psychiatry consultation service is available on site. Construction of the Patient Education Center was completed early in this quarter. Computers and furniture will be installed and in place by the next quarter. We expect to have a dedicated educator on site to assist clients of the education center.
