The CoE's Professional Education core's mission is to develop culturally competent health care professional training and educational programs in women's health, including prevention.

The Professional Education core works closely with the Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, and the Office of Graduate Studies, to assess the needs and changes of the current curriculum, to include key women's health topics, as well as incorporates gender difference medicine.

A priority of UMMC Center of Excellence in Women's Health is to change the way health care providers are trained, guaranteeing that they learn the most up-to-date information on the unique health needs of women, regardless of specialty. The CoE is working with the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and SHRP to implement new programs and training opportunities for students.
