Sharing Life, a 22' x 11' mural by Mississippi artist William Baggett, was commissioned to commemorate the opening of the Winfred L. Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Executed in alkyd enamel pigments on custom-fabricated stainless steel panels, the work was painted in the artist's studio, disassembled and transported, and reassembled on site. The artist combined groups of figures in several thematic sets to illustrate the role of women in improving the quality of life around them. Sharing Life was a gift to the Medical Center from the Wiser Women, a nonprofit, volunteer organization that supports hospital programs.
